How Do Dinosaurs Go to School? by Jane Yolen

All right How Do Dinosaurs Go to School? is a cute story that ask what would happen if dinosaurs went to schools, and by the end you have the answers. Of course, it's all make believe, but its a cute book to ask and see what kids would answer. At the same time instill good manners cause that's what good dinosaurs would do. It's a great bedtime story, not too long or short, just right. Plus, the illustrations are adorable.

Now my son liked the story.

I guess this book passed both of us. Would this be something I bought for our collection? Not sure, kind of on the fence. Don't get me wrong it was cute and quick. Overall, a good library pick.

Ezra's Wookie Rescue

Unless you are a huge Star Wars fan and don't mind reading this book to your child go ahead. However, if you aren't Ezra's Wookie Rescue is not for you. Seriously, this a book that is made to make parents cringe when they are just trying to read their child a bedtime story that is quick and sweet. Not even close to being quick. Seriously, when there is about 4 paragraphs per page and almost 25 pages of text. It was too long for a bedtime story. My son fell asleep before I was done reading the story. I had to finish, because I had to know if I would be even tempted to reread this story to him. Um, no.

We didn't get a chance to listen to the CD, but I don't know if I really want to. I know that there's actually many more Star War stories out there, but I don't know if I want to take the time.

Anyway, would this be something I would by my kids? Probably not. It was a bad story to read, but it was too long for a bedtime story. Maybe it would be perfect for a car ride. This was one of my son's library picks, and I'm happy to take it back to the library.

Charlotte the Scientist is Squished by Camille Andros

Now Charlotte the Scientist is Squished is a fabulous book to read to kids. In here you will find a super cute way to teach young ones about the Scientific Method. Now if you don't know what that is here it is broken down:

1. Ask Questions
2. Form a Hypothesis
3. Test the Hypothesis (Experiment)
4. Make and Record Observations
5. Form a Conclusion.

After reading this you can go out with your kids and practice the scientific method.

As an adult love this book. The pictures are cute and story on how Charlotte uses the Scientific Method is awesome.

Now my son, he liked the story, but didn't love it.

Conclusion: Win for the adults and it depends on the kid. I rather read this story than other books. An Excellent library find and I would want to add this to my collection of books.

The Nonsense Show by Eric Carle

Let's start with what my son thought of The Nonsense Show: He liked it. He even went back and looked at the book. Now I on the other hand thought it was weird. Not even weird cool, but weird. I love Eric Carle's other books, but this is something else. One bizarre read. Yes, it's utter nonsense.

Would this be something I buy? No. It's too out there to even adding to my collection of children's books. Good thing this was library find. Till next time.

Welcome to Heading To the Library with the Kiddos

Okay, I have been wanting to do this for sometime. I didn't find it was appropriate to post kids books on my What I'm Reading blog, because it seemed a little weird. So, here beginnings a new journey with my kids. Yes, this is where you will find kids books. I'm going share what I thought about the book, and also share kids thoughts (mainly my son). My daughter is going to share her thoughts on the books she's read. Overall, this should be an interesting ride. I don't know how long it will last, but hey I hope you come along the journey.

Mainly the books will probably come from the library, but there will be some books we will read because we have purchased them. Let the journey begin.
